What is a variable in Python

A variable in Python is a symbolic name that is a reference or pointer to an object. Variables are used to store data values. Unlike some programming languages, Python does not require you to declare a variable before using it. You can simply assign a value to a variable, and Python will automatically create the variable for you.

For example, if you want to store the number 10 in a variable called 'my_number', you simply do the following:

my_number = 10

In this example, 'my_number' is the variable that holds the integer value 10.
